OOC Plans: Riyoko plans to carry out her dream to help all of Republic City, regardless of how long it takes. She tries to avoid ruffling any feathers, but will also seek to stop anyone who would cause someone else harm. She does not associate with the police directly, but acts more of a "free" vigilante.


Riyoko has short brown hair, medium physique, and a mild temper that can become hard to cope with. Her temper surfaces from her lack of interaction with other people during training, and has resulted in her being very antisocial.


Riyoko is a well-mannered, rounded individual who easily understands other people just by giving a quick glance. She's usually kind and caring, but will not hesitate to use her bending if need be for self-defense. During times of great stress, she'll usually become completely useless and rely on others to solve the problem. Quick to jump to conclusions, she'll usually assume the worst situation will happen well before anything actually happens.


Growing up in the Northern Air Temple, Riyoko never knew of her abilities until she "accidentally" fell of the edge of one of the high-risen courtyards. She had closed her eyes as she fell toward the ground above. After some time of falling, she opened her eyes and saw the bottom approaching quickly. Once again, she closed her eyes and held our both hands to brace for the impact. Moments later she sent a small burst of air that completely stopped her from hitting the ground, saving her life. She was only seven at this time and, of course, she had no knowledge of what was happening.

Riyoko's parents, Quin and Yui, personally explained her abilities and, with the right amount of attention and training, she could do amazing things to help other people. The idea of helping others with her own fighting spirit ignited a fire in her little, seven-year-old, heart. She began training vigorously, never stopping for even a minute to rest.

Three years later, she had mastered her basic forms of maneuvers, moves, and coordination. Through her parents guidance, Riyoko managed to sustain herself in a personal bubble of self worth that would inevitably change her forever.

On Riyoko's sixteenth birthday, she received a custom glider given from her father to her. The glider had been passed down for six generations, and Riyoko took hold of the glider in honor of her family.

At the age of twenty-one Riyoko acquired the knowledge needed to fight effectively with her glider in combat. Under the instruction of her father, Riyoko learned the basics of the ancient fighting style: Kenpo. The ancient fighting style of quick, decisive strikes and counters to disable and render your opponent confused and vulnerable to attack. Her initial training now complete, Riyoko desires to venture to a place that she had heard about where people were in need of help. This place was known as Republic City.

  • Air Blast

The user sends a burst of air out in the shape of a ball in front of them which can be used offensively or defensively.

  • Air Shield

The user creates a funnel of air in front of them that redirects attacks around them.

  • Air Swipe

The user sends a sharp jet of air out in the shape of a crescent which can be used to cut things.

  • Enhanced Agility (Passive)

The user is naturally more agile than a normal human.

  • Gliding (Passive)

The user can glide across the air for a short period of time; this can be sustained for a medium amount of time by using a glider.

Basic Powers

  • Air Strike

The user can attach a burst of wind to any physical attack with their arms or legs for added force. (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Air Suction

The user can create a vacuum of air which pulls things toward them. (Achieved after 2 weeks)

  • Air Barrier

The user can create a large dome of air around them which can be used to protect them and even others from harm and the barrier also redirects all projectiles back where they came from. The user is unable to take any other action while maintaining the barrier.

  • Air Wake

The user can build up massive momentum while running which can then be focused into a powerful concussive blast. The user becomes disoriented for a short time after using this power.

  • Tornado (Exclusive to Cyclone Monk)

The user can create a large tornado that will pull in anything near by and fill with debris which they can redirect for a short time. The user is unable to move while using this power as it takes heavy concentration.

  • Air Burst (Exclusive to Cyclone Monk)

The user draws in air from their surroundings and condenses it into a large sphere before releasing it as a concussive blast in front of them. The user is immobile while using this power.

Advanced Powers

(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)

  • Enhanced Jumping (Passive)

The user is able to use gusts of air to jump about three times the height of a normal human (about 8-10 feet). (Achieved after 2 months)

  • True Flight (Passive; requires 2 open slots)

The user is able to sustain controlled flight with seemingly no limits. While it has no direct offensive or defensive capabilities, the potential is nearly limitless; a glider is not required. They are faster than users of assisted flight, can fly completely quiet and can fly up to 60 miles per hour. (Achieved after 7 months)
