Rei is a cold, disinterested young lady who, if she can, avoids all human intimacy. Rei hates people as a whole, she loathes people as when they are in large groups greed, hate and evil are the key sentiments that people rally behind. It is because of this that Rei is so distant and cold to those around her, she behaves like the people around her are corrupting the air she breathes because she thinks that giving anyone a half-decent expectation will only disappoint her.

She does however have a few close people whom she would probably die for. These people are obviously her parents, her parents had always cared for her until they died in her early teens and she mourned them. Her parents deaths were what truly drove her to abandon all affection to other people. Rei often plays pranks and jokes on everyone as a way of driving them to anger and having them perpetuate her views on people.

Rei has few likes and little dislikes as well, she simply accepts life as it is and thinks ill of the people who live in it. Deep inside her though she in reality is merely waiting for someone who will care for her and for her to care for.


Rei was born to a Wastelander father and a captured Earth Republic mother. After Rei’s birth her mother elected to stay and raise Rei, if only to spare her the horrors Wastelanders inflict on ‘Outsiders’. Rei was treated surprisingly well by her father, he never struck her or inflicted pain in order to teach, as was the usual Wastelander way of raising a child and her mother doted upon her a great deal, often allowing herself to be beaten in order to get things for Rei that would make her life easier.

When Rei was 6 she waterbent for the first time, her mother feared this and told her to hide her bending from her father and the other Wastelanders, as all waterbender not specifically suited to healing were forced into the raiding parties. Her mother encouraged her to train herself in secret, often acquiring various scrolls on the craft for Rei’s use.

During Rei’s 13th year her mother was killed. She was beaten to death by a drunken Wastelander who wanted some action and Rei’s mother denied him. The death of her mother weighed heavily on Rei, she revealed to her father that she was a waterbender and was drafted into the raiding party her father was the head of. As she grew in experience she was placed more into the fore of the raids, she claimed her first life when she was 14 and it tempered her will into something cold and black. Her father passed away the year after, a fever took him. Medicine in the Wastes was always something to be neglected rather than favoured.

Rei’s life in the Wastes was over, her parents dead and all that remained was the husk of a girl and the promise of an early death. Travelling to Republic City gave Rei hope of a future where she would live past 30 and where she would not be forced into bearing the children of the next Wastelander to assume a position of power. Republic City is where Rei decided to flee to as it holds a future less bleak than that of home…

The user can create a whip of water to quickly strike at something.

The user can create a jet of water that can be used to push back or even topple others.

The user can create a small wave from a nearby source of water that can be used to crash down on something.

  • Temperature Control (Passive)

The user can alter the temperature of water, allowing them to cause it to boil or even freeze.

  • Pressure Control (Passive)

The user can alter the pressure of water, allowing them to use it to grab or strike things.

Basic Powers

  • Ice Claws

The user creates claws of ice upon the tips of their fingers which can be used for striking or flung as projectiles. (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Water Cloak

The user can surround their arms in watery tentacles from a small source of water that can be used offensively or defensively. (Achieved after 2 weeks)

Initial Powers
  • Ice Dome

The user can create a large dome of ice around them which can be used to protect them and even others from harm. The user is unable to take any other action while maintaining the dome.

  • Octopus Form

The user can surround their body in a pressurized suit of water which has eight arms for offense or defense. The user cannot move while using this power.

  • Ice Blades (Exclusive to Ice Protector)

The user can create blades of ice from water which can be used as melee or projectile weapons. While wielding these blades, the user cannot use any other waterbending techniques from their hands.

  • Ice Armor (Exclusive to Ice Protector)

The user spreads water over their whole body and freezes it, constructing a protective suit of armor. Unlike Earth Armor, it does not restrict speed and mobility and is immensely easy to repair since it's not durable. While it can endure rather basic attacks, the armor would need constant renewal and the user can only use Ice Blades when maintaining the armor. If the user no longer desires to wear the armor, they can instantly cast it off as blast of ice shards around them or simply melt it.

Advanced Powers

(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)

  • Armless Waterbending (Passive)

The user is able to waterbend without using arm motions while bending. (Achieved after 2 months)

  • Plantbending (Passive; requires 2 open slots)

The user is able to manipulate the water in plants in order to strip the water from them or even control the movements of plants. While they need a plant as a source, they are able to rapidly grow existing plants, even beyond the size they would naturally grow, for use as well as repair damaged plants. Plants with high water density can be extremely resilient to blunt force and even fire but are still vulnerable to sharp objects. (Achieved after 7 months)
