Throughout much of her childhood, Mikiuo was an upbeat positive person. However, when her mother married the Chief of the Southern Water Tribe, her animated temperament soon began to dwindle under her stepfather's oppressive reign. Mikiuo remains a strong person who is loyal to both her friends and family and remains cordial with people who she keeps her distance from. Mikiuo's most defining trait and greatest weakness is her willingness to believe people and remains faithful to those she puts her trust into. Multiple times throughout her life, Mikiuo has put herself through horrendous situations to fight for the people she endears the most knowing the consequences. She believes it is her duty to help those who she cares about at all cost.


Mikiuo grew up in the dreadful Southern wastes as a child, but eventually moved to the Northern Water Tribe after her father passed away from a terminal illness. Mikiuo had no trouble making friends in the South and quickly grew popular amongst the locals. Mikiuo's mother and the elder women told her stories about the renowned Katara and Korra who were both originally from the dreadful Southern wastes. Mikiuo was very interested in the two legends and sneaked into waterbending sessions. When she reached the age of eight, although her mother, Ulko, enrolled her in a waterbending class after Mikiuo begged her to do so. Ulko was nervous that Mikiuo wouldn't bend water. Mikiuo's teacher instructed her that she was too eager and needed to relax. After many months of practice, the teacher determined that Mikiuo wasn't a waterbender. She went home saddened and continued to practice for weeks. Sometime later, Mikiuo bent water for the first time and was later enrolled back into the class.

After Ulko saw progress in Mikiuo, she taught her the art of healing which came natural to Mikiuo. At night, she would often stay up late to practice her waterbending, imagining she was Katara or Korra on a mission to save the world from some mysterious villain.

When Mikiuo turned eleven, her mother remarried a healer of the Northern Water Tribe who turned out to be a very strict individual. He oppressed Mikiuo and badgered her on traditional values. He made her memorize Northern customs, etiquette and law and forced her to hone in on Northern waterbending techniques (which she didn't mind). Mikiuo often imagined of running away to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional waterbending pro-bender, but she was too afraid to venture off into the real world alone by herself.

In the middle of winter when Mikiuo turned fourteen, her mother died giving birth to Mikiuo's younger brother, Qaniit. She felt abandoned and empty without the presence of her mother. Mikiuo shut herself off from her stepfather and the rest of the world and locked herself in her room.

A year later, when Mikiuo was at the age of fifteen, her stepfather decided that she should travel the world. He knew that Mikiuo was hurting and needed to clear her mind of the pain and death of her mother. For the first time since she met Omaru (her step-father), she finally saw that he deeply cared for her and was elated to travel the world. The following week, she planned her destinations and set out on a venture. Her first stop was to Republic City.

The user can create a whip of water to quickly strike at something.

  • Water Jet

The user can create a jet of water that can be used to push back or even topple others.

  • Water Wave

The user can create a small wave from a nearby source of water that can be used to crash down on something.

  • Temperature Control (Passive)

The user can alter the temperature of water, allowing them to cause it to boil or even freeze.

  • Pressure Control (Passive)

The user can alter the pressure of water, allowing them to use it to grab or strike things.

  • Water Cloak

The user can surround their arms in watery tentacles from a small source of water that can be used offensively or defensively. (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Ice Claws

The user creates claws of ice upon the tips of their fingers which can be used for striking or flung as projectiles. (Achieved after 2 weeks)

The user can create a whirlpool which pools all within its reach inwards. Requires a body of water.

  • Waterspout

The user can create a spout of water which can be used to lift them or others up off the ground. Requires a body of water.

  • Condensation (Passive; Exclusive to Flood Sender)

The user is able to condensate water from the air, giving them a access to a body of water anywhere.

  • Jet Cutter (Exclusive to Flood Sender)

The user fires a high pressure jet of water, while thinner than other waterbending techniques, the stream is strong enough to cut through weaker armour plating and even people. The technique's power drastically drops at longer ranges, making it only effective in close quarters.

Advanced Powers

  • Armless Waterbending (Passive)

The user is able to waterbend without using arm motions while bending. (Achieved after 2 months)

  • Cloudbending (Passive)

The user is able to manipulate water vapor in order to move or create clouds which can be used to obscure sight. (Achieved after 4 months)
