Personality

Latika is bubbly and outgoing, yet slightly airheaded. She always has many questions for any situation, as everything is fascinating to her and her active imagination. She will not stop until she has answers to all of the mysteries in life. Energy and hyperactivity often accompany her wilder moments of curiosity, which sometimes accidentally lead to a point of bluntness or spark irritation with others. Despite this, she is quick to make friends with others and is willing to help those in need whenever she can.

History

Latika grew up in the Western Air Temple near the Fire Nation and became restless with her oppressive lifestyle as a young Air Nomad. She longed to travel out into the world and write about various tales of her adventures.

When Latika was three years old, a lemur out of rage tore out her right eye when she attempted to play with it.

From the time Latika was seven, she trained in the Western Air Temple and worked in the library that housed the ancient airbending scrolls that depicted stories of the earliest Air Nomads. Although she was gregarious and noisy, Latika spend most of her time reading and writing her own fictional stories about life outside the Air Temple.

When Latika was eleven, she was trained as an instructor to teach new Air Acolytes the traditions, teachings and culture of the Air Nomads (until then, she waited to receive students). However, she tended to get off topic and depict narratives and accounts of secular novels or news she recently read or heard about. With her vast imagination and creativity, she would reenact some of the stories with the young Air Acolytes. She was often reprimanded and scolded because of this.

As Latika turned thirteen, she decided that life as an Air Nomad wasn't for her. She rejected and soon abandoned her teaches and way of life to become a professional writer. Latika decided that it would be best to venture off to various parts of each of the Four Nations before finally settling down to her final destination: Republic City. However, it took several months for Latika to learn how to navigate her way around the Fire Nation. She stubbled along her way, but in the end encountered many personalities and made friends with many people.

After spending three years traveling through the Fire Nation (she was sixteen by then), she took off to the Northern Water Tribe. Latika had trained with the White Lotus who were stationed in the Northern Water Tribe and volunteered to work at their library. She stayed at the station in the Northern Water Tribe for two years. When she was asked if she wanted to join, she reclined and said that she must get back to journeying around the world.

By the time Latika was eighteen, she ventured into the Earth Kingdom and retraced the steps of Avatar Aang on his journey. Latika visited the Dessert and traveled through the Swamp. It was there that she became more in touch with her spirituality. She spent half a year in the Swamp talking to spirits and learning from them. Latika moved on and went the ancient city of Omashu that was seemingly built by two lovers, the famous city of Ba Sing Se and the city that took pride in being the safest city in the world: Zaofu.

When Latika reached the age of nineteen, she found her way to Republic City where she settled down to become a writer.

Powers

Air Nomad[]
Initial Powers[]
  • Air Blast

The user sends a burst of air out in the shape of a ball in front of them which can be used offensively or defensively.

  • Air Shield

The user creates a funnel of air in front of them that redirects attacks around them.

  • Air Swipe

The user sends a sharp jet of air out in the shape of a crescent which can be used to cut things.

  • Enhanced Agility (Passive)

The user is naturally more agile than a normal human.

  • Gliding (Passive)

The user can glide across the air for a short period of time; this can be sustained for a medium amount of time by using a glider.

Basic Powers[]

(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed.)

  • Air Suction

The user can create a vacuum of air which pulls things toward them. (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Air Scooter

The user can create a ball of air which can be rode for an extended period of time and is much faster and agile than if they were walking or running (25-30 mph), however, they have a hard time using other bending powers while riding the scooter. (Achieved after 2 weeks)

Gust Walker[]
(Achieved after 1 month)
Initial Powers[]
  • Air Vortex

The user can create a large spiraling gust of air out all around them which is can be used to knock down or disorient others. The user is unable to move for a short time after using this power.

  • Wind Breath

The user can create a powerful torrent of wind from their mouth which can be directed and redirected with ease by using their lungs. The user is immobile while using this power.

  • Assisted Flight (Passive; Exclusive to Gust Walker)

The user is able to sustain partial flight for a short period of time by creating large gusts of wind and forcing them upon themselves; this can be sustained for a long amount of time by using a glider. However the large gusts are somewhat loud.

  • Air Bubble (Passive; Exclusive to Gust Walker)

The user can generate an air bubble around small objects, giving them a limited ability to remotely move objects at their discretion with reasonable precision. This power cannot be used on heavy or large objects, only two air bubbles can be sustained at a time, user is immobile while using this power.

Advanced Powers[]

(Note: Once a power is chosen, it cannot be changed. Also, Master level powers can only be achieved after 7 months and require 2 open power slots.)

  • Enhanced Jumping (Passive)

The user is able to use gusts of air to jump about three times the height of a normal human (about 8-10 feet). (Achieved after 2 months)

  • Enhanced Speed (Passive)

The user is able to redirect air flow around them, removing air resistance and generating a wind current behind them, thus greatly increasing their running speed. (50-60 mph). The user cannot use the power to enhance the speed of their flight/gliding or jumping and they're vulnerable to fatigue and high-speed collision while running at these new speeds. (Achieved after 4 months)

Not yet achieved (Achieved after 6 months)
