Kano is a walking mountain. He can be quite intimidating at first glance, which he uses to his advantage on his enemies. When he's not in "work" mode, he is quite thoughtful and caring towards those he calls comrades.


Abandoned by his parents at birth, Kano was miraculously taken in and adopted by a clan of traveling mercenary's called the Wanderers. They found him in a deserted area of the Earth Republic, crying and bleeding from a cut on his cheek. The rest most of the group wanted to leave the baby for dead, but their leader Burai decided to take him into their clan instead.

From an early age, Kano was trained to become a hardened killer. When his earthbending abilities manifested at the age of six, Burai himself taught Kano how to earthbend, offensively and defensively. At age of 16, he took his first contract: killing a Fire Nation crime lord. Most in his class thought he couldn't pull it off until he returned with said crime lord's severed head. Burai was impressed. Kano exceeded many expectations placed on him.

Kano had been apart of practically all of his life. They were his family and Burai was the father he never had. To have them all taken away from him shattered him. The mercenary clan known as the Wanderers was slaughtered by one of their own; a man known as Tybalt. Tybalt was a treacherous and selfish man who wanted the leadership of the clan but was denied because of his inner plans to unleash them onto the innocent. In retaliation, he and his lackeys took them all out. However, there was one man whom Tybalt had missed. One man who came home from a job to find his family killed. One man with vengeance on his mind. Kano.

Now, Kano has set his sights on Republic City, where he may escape his pain and find the man responsible.

  • Earth Bomb

The user can send a small boulder flying in any direction once struck which breaks apart into many smaller projectiles when it hits something.

  • Earth Smash

The user is able to crush or even shatter anything made of stone without any force required.

  • Earth Shield

The user is able to create a small wall made of stone which can be used to defend or obstruct a path.

  • Earth Levitation (Passive)

The user is able to cause earth to levitate allowing them to use any earth they control as a moderate defense or even to allow time to prepare an attack.

  • Compression Control (Passive)

The user is able to compress earth into a much denser state allowing them to harden soil or stone for stronger offense or defense. The user must take time to compress the earth.

  • Earth Column

The user is able to force sharp columns of stone out of the ground that can be used to cut or even stab others as well as obstruct paths. (Achieved after 1 week)

  • Earth Shelter

The user is able to pull together many stones around them in order to form a makeshift shelter as a defense around them or something else. They can also use it to encase an enemy. (Achieved after 2 weeks)

The user is able to create jets of stone out of the ground which can be used to launch things into the air as well as a sort of spring to soften falls from high distances.

  • Earthquake

The user is able to strike the ground and create large tremors which can disorient or even topple others in a large area around them. The user is unable to differentiate friend from foe with this power.

  • Remote Earthbending (Passive; Exclusive to Rock Breaker)

The user is able to earthbend without touching the earth they are bending.

  • Avalanche (Exclusive to Rock Breaker)

The user can tear several large chunks of earth straight out of the ground and command them to float into the air before raining down around them. The user can ensure that themselves and nearby allies aren't harmed in the attack, but they are unable to move while using this power as it takes heavy concentration.

Advanced Powers

  • Seismic Sense (Passive)

The user is able to sense their surroundings by feeling tremors in the ground. This allows the user to 'see' with their earthbending in a large area around them. (Achieved after 2 months)
