Basic Information Bender type: Earthbender Title: The Moonlight Thief Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Current age: 25 General Status: Alive and well Sexuality: Heterosexual Relationship Status: Single OOC Plans: Being that Masaru is here to just make money and a name for himself, and also since he is only interested in the criminal life, Masaru will join JD and will most likely just further their efforts while creating as much chaos as he wants.
Appearance Standing at 6'2 and 178 lbs. Masaru is a very well built and well carried man with long white hair and an eye patch. His eyes are a very light blue and he usually wears suit-related apparel (suit jackets, button ups, vests, etc.). During missions he tends to put on a kind of harness that carries equipment as well.
Personality Despite going to a life of crime, Masaru is actually rather level-headed. He is extremely serious and not very talkative, tending to prefer his actions do the talking. He also carries a certain group of morals and principles that most don't know about. When he talks he is also straight to the point often being rude.
History It all started one night in a very wealthy but small village in the Earth Republic, the screams of a woman echoing through the streets, a few hours later young Masaru was born. Masaru was lucky enough to be born to a merchant named Tadao Teruo and his wife Katsumi whom were both the reason for the village's success. Tadao soon realized his son would be tough, immediately falling ill Masaru fought for his life for several years. Knowing the village couldn't give his son the fighting chance he needed, Tadao moved to the Republic City, hoping they might have more advanced technology to restore Masaru's health. After close to a year Masaru was back to his healthy self. After a few years Masaru was introduced to the Republic City's school system, he was entered into a rather prestigious school that Tadao easily paid for, and it kept him busy enough. But one day whenever Masaru had off, he decided to go through some old things that belonged to his parents. He found an old trunk and started to read some of the papers that were in there, several being about earth bending and especially about techniques used by only earth benders. Being a curious soul, he decided to investigate and probed his father with questions. His father discussed with him that indeed, he was an earth bender, and that Masaru more than likely inherited these abilities, that is when Masaru's life got even brighter, he seemed to have unlimited possibilities because of these powers. The only downside was that Masaru had to pass through a rather risky part of town in order to get there. Though, over time he grew comfortable with it and even met a few people he would consider friends. One of them happened to be a man people tended to call Kentaro, no one knowing his real name. Kentaro was known to be muscle for some sort of gang located within the Industrial District. Things were going very well for Masaru, he was top of his class and even aspired to be a detective one day. But that all changed towards the end of his school career, whenever he got mugged. Usually whenever in the Industrial District, Kentaro would escort Masaru. But, this day Kentaro was no where to be found. Masaru didn't find it too strange as Kentaro was a busy man. Thus he just decided to continue to school on his own, he made it decently far but after walking down an ally usually used for a short cut he was stopped. A group of small men blocked him into the ally and began beating him. They saw Masaru was dressed nicely and took everything they could, leaving him bleeding and in his underwear. Kentaro found him within the hour and took Masaru to the healing clinic where he was left with stab wounds all over his body and a cut eye. But that wasn't the end of Masaru's problems. Tadao and Katsumi were worried sick, sending the police after their son to find him. Within a few days Masaru appeared on their doorstep, perfectly clean and missing his left eye. Masaru told his parents everything that had happened and they did nothing but scold him for being associated to someone as poor as Kentaro. Masaru was utterly shocked at the crudeness his parents showed considering they were just as poor in their past. This was the final straw for Masaru, he decided he would run away. He left a simple note telling his parents goodbye and not to look for him, disappearing for several years and dropping his last name. After around 8 years a large man with an eye patch entered the city, homeless and drunk, saying his name was Masaru Takeshi. Quickly detained and kept in a holding cell until sober, this man experienced his first taste of what the city has become. Powers Earth Citizen Initial Powers Earth Bomb The user can send a small boulder flying in any direction once struck which breaks apart into many smaller projectiles when it hits something. Earth Smash The user is able to crush or even shatter anything made of stone without any force required. Earth Shield The user is able to create a small wall made of stone which can be used to defend or obstruct a path. Earth Levitation (Passive) The user is able to cause earth to levitate allowing them to use any earth they control as a moderate defense or even to allow time to prepare an attack. Compression Control (Passive) The user is able to compress earth into a much denser state allowing them to harden soil or stone for stronger offense or defense.
